Do You really know Jesus?

If you were to die today, would you know where your soul (the real you) would be going for

eternity, or would you have a doubt?

The Bible lets us know that we can know for sure what will happen to us when our earthly life is

over.

There are four basic things you need to understand from the Bible to have the assurance that

when YOU die YOU will go to Heaven.

1. Everyone Is a Sinner

Romans 3:10- There is none righteous, no, not one.

Romans 3:23- For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

Although God created mankind to be in a loving relationship with Him, mankind has broken that

relationship through sin.

The reason we come short of God’s glory (God’s righteousness or perfect nature) is because

“all have sinned”.

“All” includes you.

Sin is disobeying God and falling short of His righteous standard of perfection – it’s not just

murdering or stealing and the big things that we think of when we hear the word: SIN.

For example, Adam and Eve ate from the tree that God told them not to touch – that was the

first sin.

Sin is anything that we do, say, or think that goes against the Holy God.

So the first thing you must do is agree with the Bible and admit to God that you are a

sinner.

2. Everyone Owes A Sin Debt

Romans 6:23a- For the wages of sin is death;-

By wages, the Bible means penalty or debt. There has to be consequences for our sin. Just as a

criminal must face punishment for his crime, so must we pay a penalty for our sin. This penalty

is death, but not a physical death – an eternal death where the sinner will be eternally separated

from God in the horrible place called Hell.

The Bible tells us that those who have not yet trusted Jesus alone for salvation from sin and Hell

are already condemned.

John 3:18- He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned

already…

You must realize that if you die in your sins, you will eternally pay the penalty for sin in

Hell.

3. Everyone’s Sin Debt Has Been Paid

Romans 6:23- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus

Christ our Lord.

Although sin brings eternal death and punishment, God wants to give us eternal life. And so

what He did, was come to earth in the person of Jesus Christ, and He, Himself took the

punishment that you were to pay when He went to the Cross and died and then was buried.

However, three days later Jesus rose from the dead, proving that He was God and that He has

the power to forgive you of your sin.

You must realize that you cannot gain eternal life by going to church, being baptized, or by just

being a good person.

Being saved from your punishment is gift of God through Jesus Christ alone. You can’t buy or

earn your way to Heaven. Eternal life is obtained through Jesus Christ and what He did for you

alone.

John 3:16–17- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever

believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him

might be saved.

John 14:6 - Jesus saith … I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,

but by me.

Romans 5:8 – But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ

died for us.

You must believe is that Jesus has paid your sin debt by dying for you, and eternal life is

only gained through Him.

4. Even YOU Can Be Saved

It doesn’t matter what you have done, said or thought, the love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness

of God through Jesus are way more powerful than your greatest sin.

However, although Jesus died to pay everyone’s sin (including yours), not everyone has come

to Jesus alone in faith and confessed that they are a sinner in need of salvation.

1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse

us from all unrighteousness.

You must personally call upon Jesus if you are to receive God’s free gift of forgiveness and

eternal life. You must believe what Jesus has done for you, and ask Him to save you.

Romans 10:9 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine

heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:13 – For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you would like to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, simply and humbly

call out to Him and:

1. Admit to God that you are a sinner.

2. Tell Him that you believe that He died for you and rose from the dead three days later.

3. Ask Him to forgive you and to save you and to make you a new person.

4. Then believe that God has saved you just as He has promised to do.

John 5:24 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that

sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death

unto life.

If today, you went to Jesus in faith and asked Him to save you, He did. And we would love to

hear from you to help guide you in your new life in Christ.

A couple of things that you can immediately do is to start to read your Bible (God’s Word to you)

and Pray, (Your words to God). God and find a church that believes the Bible.
